Teachers, school and community groups are welcome to visit the Museum during regular Museum hours and take advantage of our expanded tour program led by our docents, the FAQ Team. The FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) Team, are a group of artists and historians who assist with contextualizing CAMH’s dynamic exhibitions for diverse audiences. We invite people to discuss, share, and synthesize ideas to open opportunities for interpersonal dialogue and personal fulfillment. It is our aim to guide a visitor’s experience by cultivating critical thinking and prioritize their own view in the context of various perspectives.

Along with our exhibition tours, CAMH provide hands-on curriculum-based workshops for students as a way of expanding the Museum’s programming beyond the context of our onsite exhibitions. The workshops allow students to gain insight into the methods and techniques used to produce the works on display in the Museum’s galleries and will increase their knowledge of art making methods and approaches. Offered in conjunction with the Museum’s onsite tours, our programming will aim to provide students with an understanding of the interdisciplinary nature of contemporary art and encourage critical thinking in relation to the arts.

Exhibition tours led by members of the FAQ Team are offered free of charge every Saturday at 1 and 3pm.  Schools and organizations can schedule guided discussion and activity-based group tours with FAQ Team members at a rate of $3.00 per participant; the rate of a tour and workshop is $4.00 per participant. There is no fee for supervisors who accompany student groups.  Teachers who plan self-guided tours should also call to confirm the exhibition schedule and to make sure that other large groups are not pre-scheduled. This is to ensure the safety of the artwork, as well as the maximum enjoyment of your group’s visit. Feel free to inquire about the age-appropriateness of the exhibition, or how to adjust the tour to meet the specific needs of your classroom/or community group. For further information on our tour programs please contact Oscar Cornejo, Tour Programs Coordinator at (713) 284-8276 or email ocornejo@camh.org
